   How has your business changed?

Our business didn't really get started until we started working with Tony. We were 5 years into running a restaurant and felt entirely trapped. We were working 100 hours every week and barely making enough to keep our heads above water and even though we had quite a large staff, the business depended entirely upon our personal efforts. In just 10 months we have implemented systems and standards across our entire operations that have made it possible for us to successfully delegate and begin to have some freedom from the day to day operations so that we can focus on developing the business.

How has your life changed?

It is impossible to describe the way our lives have changed in such a short time. When we opened our restaurant 5 years ago my wife was 8 months pregnant and the first two years after our son was born were the hardest of our lives. We worked non-stop and barely survived. Our son lived in the restaurant with us and we only stopped working long enough to nap a couple hours a day on the chairs in our dining room. Now, 5 years later, we have just had a second little baby boy and because of the work we have been doing with our coach we have been able to actually spend time together after his birth. Even through a period when our industry faces unprecedented challenges, we have grown our revenue, profitability, and staff while being able to take time out and experience the joys of a growing family. We still have a lot of work to do but we are finally on a path where we can see what freedom is going to look like for our family.

Before we started with Tony, I was finding myself wanting a way out, not wanting to come in to work to deal with all that was on my plate everyday, with no sight of relief. Tony helped by setting weekly goals and homework and keeping us accountable and focused on the big picture.

 Fast forward 2 years we have a team of 14 people helping in all areas of our business. Taking the day to day work load off of my plate, has given me a lot more time to work on bigger parts of our business and look to the future of our growing company. Currently, my wife and Tony are in the process with an assistant to help her create more time for herself instead of such long days.

 Recently, we have purchased a new facility to accommodate us today and has plenty of room for growth for years to come. This will allow us to merge our two south western Ontario locations into one.

 With the help of Tony we have harnessed our company’s growth and can tackle the future with a much better strategy. I really did not have or want to take the time in the beginning to meet with Tony, and now when I look back over the last few years we wouldn’t be where we are today or where we are heading tomorrow without what we have learned from Tony.

 We now take vacation and have the flexibility to come and go and balance our home life better. Our company over the last 4 years went from 4 people in the business to total of 14. Gross sales have increased from 3.8 million to over 12 million, and still on the growth.

 If we didn’t get help we are certain this wouldn’t have been achieved. The investment we make in Tony has not been a cake walk and the challenges we faced, but at the end of each quarter we spend significantly more time working “on the business” NOT “in the business”
